Haryana government approves ₹4,016 crore infrastructure tenders covering power distribution upgrades, SCADA systems, and urban development projects.

The Haryana government has finalised infrastructure tenders worth approximately ₹4,016 crore during a meeting of the High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The approvals span a wide range of sectors, including power distribution upgrades and key urban development initiatives.

During the meeting, a total of 58 tenders were considered for crucial infrastructure works. Two tenders were set aside for further review, while detailed negotiations were held for the remaining 56 projects. Following discussions with bidders, the committee finalised contracts valued at around ₹4,016 crore, ensuring an estimated savings of about ₹150 crore through negotiated rates.

A major focus of the approved works is strengthening the power distribution network across the state. This includes awarding contracts for development and expansion of infrastructure under the Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Key activities under this initiative will involve reducing line losses, establishing new 33 kV substations, and improving existing substations in various regions served by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam.

In addition, the committee approved the implementation of advanced grid management systems, such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DMS/OMS (Distribution Management System/Outage Management System) in Gurugram, which are expected to modernise network monitoring and outage response.

Beyond power infrastructure, the tender approvals also cover important urban development projects and basic infrastructure works. These include the four‑laning of major master roads under the Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority, enhancements to civic amenities, and improvements to connectivity and public infrastructure in growing urban zones.

The presence of ministers including Energy Minister Anil Vij, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goel, Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, and Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Choudhry highlighted the collaborative effort behind the committee’s decisions.

The approval of these tenders marks a significant push by the Haryana government to accelerate development, improve service delivery, and upgrade core infrastructure to meet the demands of its expanding urban and rural populations.
