RoadGrid, an Indian electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure company, has successfully raised capital in a pre-Series A funding round, led by early-stage investor Venture Catalysts with participation from angel and strategic backers. The company secured approximately ₹12 crore (about $1.3 million) to accelerate its growth plans.
The fresh funds will be deployed to expand manufacturing capacity for EV chargers, scale up the rollout of charging stations across the country, and further develop RoadGrid’s cloud-based software platform to manage charging operations.
Founded with a focus on scaling EV charging networks nationwide, RoadGrid develops both EV charging hardware and software solutions and operates public and commercial charging stations. The company plans to deploy the new funds to expand its manufacturing capacity for chargers, strengthen its cloud-based software platform, and accelerate the rollout of charging stations across the country.
RoadGrid’s technology includes patented universal EV chargers capable of supporting various vehicle types, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, helping bridge infrastructure gaps across different segments of the electric mobility ecosystem.
The company operates across two major business segments. In the first, it manufactures and supplies charging equipment to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), utilities, and fleet operators. In the second, it establishes and manages public and commercial charging stations.
RoadGrid already has active deployments in cities including Indore and Noida, and has instituted chargers at key locations such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) sites. The startup has a confirmed pipeline of more than 1,000 chargers, reflecting strong demand from various partners and stakeholders.
India’s EV charging market, currently estimated at around ₹5,000 crore, is expected to grow significantly to about ₹50,000 crore over the next six years as electric vehicle adoption expands and the need for reliable charging infrastructure increases.
