EnerGrid has announced plans to raise USD 500 million to support the development of greenfield transmission and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across India. The funding will be utilized to strengthen the company’s portfolio in grid infrastructure and accelerate the integration of renewable energy into the national power network.
According to company sources, the capital will be raised through a mix of equity and debt, targeting both domestic and international investors. The move comes amid India’s growing demand for robust transmission systems capable of handling intermittent renewable generation and ensuring grid reliability.
EnerGrid aims to deploy the funds toward high-capacity inter-state transmission lines and advanced BESS installations designed to stabilize power flow and reduce grid congestion. The initiative aligns with India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and underscores the country’s focus on modernizing its power infrastructure through technology-driven and sustainable solutions.
With this investment, EnerGrid is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing next-generation energy networks that enhance efficiency, resilience, and renewable integration across the power value chain.
