CG Power and Industrial Solutions has entered the global data centre segment after winning a major export order worth about ₹900 crore from US-based Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions for the supply of power transformers.
The engineering conglomerate described the project as the largest single order ever secured by the group and a direct export order for its power transformers. The order involves the supply of transformers designed to meet the requirements of hyperscale data centre applications.
According to the officials, the contract will be executed over a delivery period ranging from 12 to 20 months. The transformers will be designed and manufactured at CG Power’s state-of-the-art facilities in India before being shipped to the US.
Amar Kaul, Global CEO and Managing Director of CG Power and Industrial Solutions, said the order represents a “strategic platform win” for the company and marks its entry into the rapidly growing data centre segment.
He noted that the deal validates CG Power’s ability to deliver globally benchmarked, mission-critical technology solutions from India and strengthens its position as a trusted global partner in applications where reliability and performance are critical.
Kaul added that the global shift towards cloud computing, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure is reshaping power demand worldwide, and said the company believes the order opens up a significant long-term pipeline of opportunities in global data centre projects, aligned with its growth and margin-accretive expansion strategy.
