Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a significant ₹6,650 crore order from NTPC Limited for the establishment of an 800 MW unit at the Darlipali Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-II, located in Sundargarh, Odisha.
The project will be executed on a turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis. Under this scope, BHEL will be responsible for the design, detailed engineering, manufacturing and supply of key equipment, civil construction, and complete erection and commissioning of the thermal power unit.
This order marks another milestone in the long-standing partnership between BHEL and NTPC, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing India’s power generation capacity. The Darlipali Stage-II project is part of NTPC’s broader strategy to enhance the efficiency and reliability of its supercritical thermal power portfolio.
With this win, BHEL further strengthens its leadership in the domestic power equipment manufacturing sector, underscoring its proven expertise in delivering large-scale, high-efficiency power projects that support India’s growing energy demand.
