Accord Transformer & Switchgear Limited (ATS), one of the leading manufacturers of transformers and switchgear solutions in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Western Administrative District of the City of Moscow (Russian Federation), marking a significant step toward international collaboration in energy infrastructure and industrial development.
The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation between the two parties aimed at strengthening industrial ties, promoting sustainable energy solutions, and fostering technological exchange. The agreement reflects a shared vision to accelerate growth in power infrastructure and related sectors across both regions.
The agreement was formally signed on Wednesday, in Haryana, India, and reflects the mutual intent of both parties to build a long-term, non-binding strategic partnership focused on industrial and infrastructure development.
Under the MOU, both parties will collaborate across several key areas, including the development of energy infrastructure through the supply, installation, and commissioning of transformers, switchgear, distribution systems, and associated electrical equipment. The cooperation will also explore manufacturing partnerships, including the establishment of joint ventures, local assembly units, and production facilities in Moscow to strengthen localization and enhance manufacturing capacity.
The partnership further covers collaboration on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects, including substations, industrial power systems, and other large-scale electrical infrastructure, in coordination with government bodies and public sector organizations. In addition, both sides will work to strengthen engagement with regulatory authorities, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders to support project execution and investment activities.
Technology exchange and skill development will form a core part of the collaboration, with plans for technical training, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building initiatives in transformer manufacturing, smart grid technologies, and energy-efficient solutions. The MOU also provides for structured interaction through business delegations, technical consultations, and investment discussions to ensure effective implementation of joint initiatives and long-term cooperation.
