ABB Powers Noida International Airport with Advanced Energy and Water Management Solutions

ABB has deployed advanced energy-efficient power distribution and water management automation systems at Noida International Airport, India’s most significant greenfield aviation project. The airport is set to commence operations in April 2026, aiming to enhance regional connectivity and reduce congestion in Delhi.

In its initial phase, the airport is designed to handle 12 million passengers annually and requires a robust, reliable, and future-ready infrastructure. ABB’s solutions will support critical airport operations, including terminal management, airfield services, passenger movement, baggage handling, ventilation, and safety systems, along with comprehensive water and wastewater management.

The airport will begin operations with a single runway, with international flight services expected to follow in the coming months. Long-term expansion plans target a capacity of up to 70 million passengers annually.

Commenting on the development, Kiran Dutt, President, Electrification, ABB India, stated that the airport required an intelligent and scalable infrastructure to manage high passenger volumes efficiently. He highlighted that ABB’s solutions are designed to support future growth while demonstrating best practices in energy and water efficiency for airports in India and globally. He also noted that such projects contribute significantly to India’s infrastructure development and align with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
