Tembo Global Industries Ltd. has bagged a ?595 crore contract from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL) to build a solar photovoltaic power station. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 will facilitate the installation of solar power stations with an aggregate capacity of 124 MW (AC), aligning with the PM-KUSUM scheme initiative for feeder-level solarisation.
The project will commence once the contract is signed, with an expected completion time of 18 months. "Tembo Global boasts a strong legacy in the manufacturing and industrial sectors," said Sanjay Patel, Managing Director of Tembo Global. "We aimed to optimise our talent pool to provide solutions within the MEP segment of the solar energy market. This agreement with MSEDCL highlights Tembo's ability and expertise in delivering value in the MEP segment of the solar industry."
Tembo Global has recently unveiled its expansion into the solar energy industry within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing) segment, with the goal of boosting productivity in this rapidly growing field. "As India’s energy landscape evolves to support the growing demands of its economy, our company recognises the value in the MEP segment through knowledge-driven solutions. Our goal is to develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs for our clients," Patel said.
Tembo will initiate procurement orders through the PPA framework and expects to establish additional agreements with government organizations. With its expertise in engineering mechanics, design calculations, and project execution across various sectors, the company seeks to contribute to the growing solar energy market in India, which aims to reach approximately 300 GW of solar capacity by 2030.
