Tata Power shares have surged by approximately 33% this year, outpacing the Nifty's 16% return. On September 10, the stock gained 6% after TP Solar, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable, announced the start of commercial production at India’s largest single-location solar cell plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The new 2GW solar cell line is set to boost domestic manufacturing of solar cells and modules, enhancing Tata Power's capability to support large-scale solar projects and meet increasing demand for high-quality, locally produced solar components.
