Adani Power Ltd stated on Monday that the company will continue to provide power to the Bangladesh power utility as per their agreement without any interruption, despite the protests that led to political unrest in the country.
According to the company, “In its normal course of business, the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) is scheduling the power supply to meet their nation's demand, and as per that schedule, Adani Power continues to supply power to the Bangladesh power utility without any disruption.” "In the future, we shall adhere to BPDB's schedule and the provisions of the PPA between the two utilities," it further stated.
Adani Power Ltd has entered into a power purchase agreement with BPDB for the provision of electricity, which was initiated in June 2023. Adani Power Jharkhand, a subsidiary of Adani Power, provides 1496 MW of net-capacity power from its ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Godda, Jharkhand.
