BHEL receives Rs 10,000 crore thermal projects from Damodar Valley Corp.

On Friday, state-owned BHEL said it has received a thermal project worth Rs 10,000 crore from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The 2x800 MW Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase-2 projects will be set up in Jharkhand, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The project is to be completed in 52 months, and the order size is Rs 10,000 crore excluding taxes. The work includes the supply of equipment such as boilers, turbines, generators, and associated ancillary equipment, as well as electrical & C&I, balance of plant packages. Apart from this, BHEL will also undertake construction and commissioning and civil works.

It is noteworthy that Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) is engaged in the design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and servicing of a wide range of products and services for key sectors of the economy. As of March 31, 2024, the Government of India held a 63.17% stake in the company.
