Shilpa Urhekar is National Head – Domestic at Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWRE).

Shilpa joined SWRE in 2017 as the Head of Project Planning and was later elevated to Head of Operations for India. She has been instrumental in the successful execution of projects across the country, and has overseen the installation, commissioning, and handovers of around 3GW projects. Prior to joining SWRE, Shilpa worked with Welspun Renewables Energy as the Head for Rooftop and Distributed Energy and prior to that was part of Project Execution and Engineering Teams.

She has rich experience across entire value chain of RE business, has a strong business acumen, and is widely recognised for her strategic impact, design focus, operational expertise and passion for people. Core to her strategy to champion talent at all levels, Shilpa effectively manages a team of over 200 people. Shilpa served in the Indian Air Force for 11 glorious years.

She participated on field in Op-Parakaram and the Kargil War and retired as a Squadron Leader. Shilpa is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering from UPES University, Dehradun, and has a PostGraduation in Executive Business Management from MDI, Gurgaon. In her free time, Shilpa enjoys golfing. She is passionate about Social Service and works with a nonprofit organization for the education of children and women in rural areas. Shilpa and her husband (also an Air Force officer) are the proud parents of one daughter and currently live in New Delhi, India.
