12 Mar 2024
On Monday, Gautam Adani and Cristiano R. Amon, the chief executive of chip giant Qualcomm, talked about the role that AI, semi-conductors, and edge devices play in the rapidly evolving global technology landscape across all markets. According to the report, the two leaders met in Mumbai on the previous day to discuss India's potential around semi-conductors, AI, and mobility.
Although Qualcomm is a major player in the design and production of wireless telecom and semi-conductor products, Adani Group bought a small portion of the 5G spectrum in 2022 for the deployment of private captive networks in ports, logistics, and power generation. Adani is building data centers at multiple locations as well.
Amon is scheduled to open a new design center at Chennai's Ramanujan IT City, valued at Rs 177.3 crore, on March 14. It is anticipated that the new center, which focuses on innovations that complement Wi-Fi technologies and offers wireless connectivity solutions, will employ 1,600 highly skilled professionals in Chennai.
