Ola Electric has received a PLI automotive certificate from ICAT

The International Centre for Automotive Technology awarded Ola Electric Technologies a PLI-Automotive certificate on Monday under the production-linked incentive scheme. The International Centre for Automotive Technology noted that Ola Electric's battery electric vehicle - 2W (Ola S1 Pro Gen 2), meets the requirements for a minimum domestic value enhancement of 50 percent for the Automotive PLI Certificate, demonstrating their commitment to localization of advanced automotive technology products.

The Ola S1 Pro (Gen 2) two-wheeler, which will hit the road from September 2023, will now be eligible for incentives under the PLI scheme from the date of the certificate's issuance, as per the senior company official. “With this certificate, which has gone through the due diligence process, OLA will now be entitled to production-linked incentives payable by the Ministry of Heavy Industries,"  said Saurabh Dalela, Director, ICAT.

ICAT, Manesar, is one of the divisions of the National Automotive Board under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. ICAT and ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) are the major testing agencies in the country.
