Lockdown constraints amid second wave of Covid-19 a downside risk for electricity demand: ICRA

C4V, a USA-based lithium-ion battery company, has signed a MoU with Hindalco Industries for the development and supply of battery-grade aluminium foils, coated foils, and structural components for li-ion cells to serve the fast-growing market for EV battery materials.
As per the understanding, Hindalco will provide up to 2000 tons of battery foil to C4V over a period of five years. The agreement also outlines a strategic roadmap covering collaboration on content and joint technology development in line with the emerging demands of the Indian EV market. This multi-pronged approach promotes local manufacturing and expertise and is expected to strengthen India's self-reliance in EV battery technology.
Recently, Hindalco announced setting up a 25,000-ton battery foil manufacturing facility in Odisha. It is to be known that C4V has already established partnerships with Omega Seiki Mobility and Simple Energy in India. It also plans to set up a manufacturing facility in the country for its advanced EV batteries.
