SJVN Limited has commissioned both units of the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station (NMHPS) located on River Tons in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
With this addition, the total installed generation capacity of the company has now reached 2,152 MW. The project is expected to generate 265.5 million units of electricity per year. The generated power will be transmitted from Bainol to Snail through a 37 km long, 220 KV transmission line.
The project includes an 18.5-meter-high and 50-meter-long diversion structure at the top. After the commissioning of the project, the state of Uttarakhand will receive 12 percent of the power generated as royalties. Additionally, each family associated with the project will receive an amount equivalent to the cost of 100 units of electricity per month for a period of ten years.
