Lockdown constraints amid second wave of Covid-19 a downside risk for electricity demand: ICRA

The Coal Ministry has said that the country's coal production during the current financial year till October 28, 2023, has increased by 12.81% compared to the same period last year. CIL witnessed a rise of 11.90%, while Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) recorded a rise of 7.82%. Captive and commercial mines outpaced both, showing a growth of 20.94%. Total coal supply increased by 11.70%, with power sector supply also seeing an increase of 7.87%.
