NHPC Shares Surge as Company Focuses on Operationalizing 107 MW Solar Project in Bikaner

Shares of state-owned NHPC are likely to attract attention on Tuesday following the company's announcement that it has commenced commercial operations at its 107 MW Karnisar Solar Power Plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

"We are pleased to inform you that the trial runs for Unit #4 (200 MW) of the Parbati-II Hydro Electric Project (4x200 MW) in Himachal Pradesh was successfully completed on April 13, 2025. With this, the trial runs for all four units, each with a capacity of 200 MW, have now been concluded. Furthermore, the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for Unit #1, Unit #2, and Unit #3 (each 200 MW) of the Parbati-II Project has already been declared as 00:00 hours on April 1, 2025. This marks the operational commencement of 600 MW of the total 800 MW capacity of the plant, with NHPC officially declaring the COD for the entire plant as April 12, 2025."

The consensus recommendation from seven analysts for NHPC is a hold, with a target price of Rs 9, implying a potential upside of 9% over the next year.
