Lauritz Knudsen Expands its AI-Powered Smart Energy Solutions in India

Lauritz Knudsen Electrical & Automation, previously known as L&T Switchgear and now part of the Schneider Electric Group, is intensifying its focus on AI-driven automation, energy efficiency, and electrification in India. The company has successfully rolled out the first phase of its ?850 crore investment, initially announced in May 2024, with the remaining funds set to be deployed over the next two years. This investment is in line with Schneider Electric’s global strategy, which includes a €2 billion incremental capacity investment from 2024 to 2027.

India has set an ambitious target of reaching 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, prioritizing infrastructure electrification and smart energy management. In response, Lauritz Knudsen is intensifying its efforts to scale up manufacturing and research & development capabilities to support this transition.

"We have a strong presence in the solar industry, offering comprehensive electrical distribution solutions for solar installations," said Naresh Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Lauritz Knudsen. "With new government regulations mandating that 20% of utility-scale solar capacity be integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESS), we see significant potential for growth."

The company is leveraging the power of AI-driven predictive analytics and machine learning (ML) to boost energy efficiency, enhance safety, and minimize operational costs. Its AI-powered SmartComm platform delivers real-time insights into energy consumption patterns, enabling the optimization of energy distribution.
