Lockdown constraints amid second wave of Covid-19 a downside risk for electricity demand: ICRA

On Friday, India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) held discussions on advancing the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and agreed to enhance cooperation in the energy sector, focusing on long-term supply agreements and collaboration on both upstream and downstream projects.
At the 15th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting (JCM), co-chaired by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations in the areas of energy, connectivity, and trade.
The Meeting Took Place in New Delhi
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on expanding the strategic partnership between their countries in areas such as defence, emerging technologies, nuclear energy, polar research, critical minerals, and renewable energy during a meeting of the India-UAE Strategic Dialogue held last night.
At the JCM, Jaishankar and Al Nahyan expressed their approval of the signing and implementation of the India-UAE bilateral investment treaty, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
"They reaffirmed the robust trade relationship between the UAE and India, which is further strengthened by the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)," the statement noted. The two foreign ministers are understood to have engaged in detailed discussions on the situation in Gaza and the on-going developments in Syria.
