NLC India Appoints P L S S Chaitanya Prakash as Director (Power)

NLC India Limited has appointed Shri P L S S Chaitanya Prakash, who last served as Executive Director (Operations) at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), as its Director (Power), effective October 5, 2026. The appointment was made by the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, through its letter dated September 30, 2026.

Shri Chaitanya Prakash will hold the position from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation on December 31, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He assumed charge as Director (Power) of NLC India on October 5, 2026.

Shri P L S S Chaitanya Prakash is a senior executive and Mechanical Engineer with over three decades of experience in India’s power and energy infrastructure sector. He has extensive expertise in thermal power plant operations, large-scale project execution, corporate governance and energy transition initiatives. He last served as Executive Director (Operations) at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), where he was involved in strategic operations and execution of major capital projects. He also has Board-level experience in GVREL and DVC-CIL Power Private Limited.

His professional expertise covers thermal power station management, boiler performance and efficiency optimisation, environmental compliance systems including FGD and fly ash management, EPC contract management, project governance, risk assessment and delay analysis. He has also contributed to emerging clean-energy initiatives, including floating solar PV, pumped storage projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Shri Chaitanya Prakash holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from Andhra University and a PGDM from XIM Bhubaneswar.
