Transformers and Rectifiers India Secures DVC Order for 500 MVA and 200 MVA Auto Transformers

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd. (TARIL), a manufacturer of transformers and reactors, has received an order from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for the manufacturing and supply of 500 MVA and 200 MVA auto transformers, along with related work.

The order has been classified as a large order under TARIL’s project classification and is scheduled to be executed over a period of 15 to 28 months.

Satyen Mamtora, Managing Director and CEO, Transformers and Rectifiers (India), said, “India’s power sector is entering a phase where strengthening the grid will be as important as expanding generation capacity. This will require dependable, high-capacity equipment, stronger domestic manufacturing capabilities and greater resilience across the power value chain. Orders such as this reinforce the importance of building these capabilities within the country. As India progresses towards Viksit Bharat 2047, we see a significant opportunity for Indian manufacturers to contribute to a more robust and self-reliant power infrastructure, and TARIL remains committed to playing its part in this journey.”

The order further strengthens TARIL’s engagement with India’s critical power infrastructure and reflects its capabilities in manufacturing high-capacity transformers.

TARIL said it remains focused on strengthening its manufacturing, technology and engineering capabilities to address the evolving requirements of the power sector and support India’s growing generation and transmission infrastructure.
