Marine Electricals (India) Limited has inaugurated its sixth manufacturing facility in Goa, spanning approximately 160,000 sq. ft., to manufacture Power Train Units (PTUs) for data centres and Shore Conversion Systems for ports.
The facility commenced operations on September 14, 2026, and is exclusively focused on manufacturing PTUs for data centres and Shore Conversion Systems for ports. The new facility is aimed at strengthening the company’s capabilities in critical power distribution and marine infrastructure solutions.
Production at the facility began earlier this month, with the company expecting it to reach its full manufacturing capacity of approximately 800 PTUs for data centres annually by March 2027.
Marine Electricals’ existing five fully operational manufacturing units in Goa and one unit in Vadodara will continue to manufacture LV/MV switchboards and busducts.
The new Goa facility is also expected to create employment opportunities in the region across production, engineering, logistics, quality assurance and other operational functions.
