Ceigall India Limited has emerged as the L1 bidder for a major inter-state power transmission project covering the evacuation of power from Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar in Gujarat. The project has been awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL).
The project, titled “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-B,” involves the development of a common transmission system to facilitate power evacuation across the identified locations.
Under the project scope, Ceigall India will be associated with the development of a 765/400 kV AIS substation along with approximately 300 km of transmission lines. The project is structured as a tariff-based transmission contract.
The work execution period is scheduled for 36 months, followed by an operational period of 35 years from the scheduled commissioning date.
The project carries annual transmission charges of ₹6,086.70 million, payable over the 35-year operational period.
The order has been awarded by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, and the project is classified as a domestic contract. Ceigall India has also stated that neither its promoter/promoter group nor its group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.
The project is expected to strengthen the transmission infrastructure required for evacuating power from the Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar regions and further support the development of the inter-state transmission network.
