The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) has commenced capacity augmentation of the 220 kV Padgha–Pal transmission line to enhance the reliability and efficiency of power supply across Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, and adjoining areas.
The upgrade work is being carried out by the Dombivli Extra High Voltage Operation and Maintenance Department and began on July 26. The project is scheduled for completion on August 26.
To ensure continuity of electricity supply during the execution period, MSETCL has made alternative transmission arrangements through the 220 kV Padgha–Jambhul transmission line, according to Ajit Igatpurikar, Deputy Chief Public Relations Officer, MSETCL.
The utility stated that in the event of any technical fault in the alternate transmission line during the upgrade period, consumers in certain areas may experience temporary power outages or regulated electricity supply, including load shedding.
MSETCL has appealed to consumers to extend their cooperation while the work is underway. The company said the capacity augmentation project is expected to significantly improve the long-term reliability, operational efficiency, and uninterrupted power supply across Kalyan, Dombivli, and the surrounding urban and rural regions.
