REC Limited has signed an agreement with RITES Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Railways, to enhance quality assurance mechanisms for power infrastructure projects being implemented under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
The contract was signed by Sh. Yogendra Singh, General Manager & HoD (PMD Quality), REC, and Sh. Akshaya Kumar Swain, Additional General Manager, RITES Limited, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations at REC’s Corporate Office in Gurugram.
Under the agreement, RITES will undertake the role of REC’s Third-Party Quality Monitoring Agency (TPQMA) for conducting Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) of Power Transformers. These transformers are planned for deployment across Bihar and Uttar Pradesh under the RDSS initiative.
The engagement aims to strengthen quality monitoring and ensure compliance with technical standards during the supply and deployment of critical power distribution equipment. The collaboration between REC and RITES is expected to support the effective implementation of RDSS objectives by enhancing reliability and quality assurance in distribution infrastructure.
