NTPC Limited (NTPC) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) have signed Supplementary Joint Venture Agreement (SJVA)-III for Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited (MUNPL), a 50:50 joint venture between the two companies. The agreement was signed on June 4, 2026, in Lucknow.
The signing of SJVA-III incorporates provisions related to the capacity enhancement of Meja Stage-II under the existing Joint Venture Agreement (JVA). As per the revised provisions, the planned capacity of Meja Stage-II has been enhanced from 2×660 MW to 3×800 MW.
The agreement marks a significant step in advancing the development of the Meja power project and reflects the continued collaboration between NTPC and UPRVUNL in strengthening power generation infrastructure.
The SJVA-III was signed in the august presence of the Managing Director of UPRVUNL. The event was also attended by the Chief Executive Officer of MUNPL, along with senior officials from NTPC, UPRVUNL, and MUNPL.
Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited (MUNPL) is a 50:50 joint venture company established by NTPC and UPRVUNL for the development and operation of thermal power generation projects in Uttar Pradesh.
