NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, will host the Indian Power Stations O&M Conference (IPS 2026) from February 13–15, 2026, in Raipur. The three-day event will gather stakeholders from across the power sector for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. The conference will be inaugurated by Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Power and leading power sector PSUs.
The annual conference celebrates a significant milestone in NTPC’s history, marking the commissioning of its first thermal power unit at Singrauli in 1982—a milestone that set the stage for decades of operational excellence in India’s power sector. Over time, IPS has become a respected platform where policymakers, industry leaders, plant operators, manufacturers, researchers, and academicians converge to exchange experiences, share practical insights, and jointly shape the future of power generation in the country.
The theme for IPS 2026, ‘Optimising Thermal Generation with Quality & Reliability’, underscores the ongoing significance of thermal power in maintaining energy security and grid stability, even as India transitions toward a cleaner and more diversified energy portfolio. The conference will focus on strengthening the pillars of quality and reliability through practical learning and industry best practices.
Technical sessions across the three days will feature experts discussing operational challenges, evolving sector requirements, and emerging opportunities in power generation. Key topics will include flexible plant operations, safety protocols, asset management, water and fuel optimisation, digital solutions, efficiency enhancement, and new energy pathways such as nuclear, hydrogen, renewable energy, and storage technologies.
IPS 2026 has drawn an impressive response, with over 466 authors submitting technical papers highlighting the latest innovations and best practices in power generation. A total of 107 selected papers from organisations including OEMs, IPPs, government and regulatory bodies, universities, EPRI, and other reputed research institutes will be presented during the conference.
A highlight of the conference will be the Techno Galaxy Exhibition, showcasing advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, and innovative solutions from various vendors and manufacturers. The exhibition will allow industry participants to explore innovations that boost efficiency, safety, and sustainability in power plant operations. NTPC stations will also feature models and performance highlights through their respective regional headquarters.
