Torrent Power has emerged as the top performing power distribution utility in the Union Ministry of Power’s 14th Integrated Rankings of Discoms, securing the highest position among 65 power distribution companies, including private and state-run discoms, across the country.

According to a company statement, Torrent Power’s licensed distribution units in Ahmedabad and Surat achieved a perfect score of 100, earning the first rank in the latest integrated rankings released by the Ministry of Power. The rankings assess the overall performance of distribution companies based on financial sustainability, operational excellence, and external environment-related parameters.

The annual Integrated Rating exercise conducted by the Ministry of Power evaluates the performance of both private and state-owned power distribution utilities in India. Torrent Power’s top ranking reflects its strong performance across key operational and financial indicators.

Commenting on the achievement, Jinal Mehta, Vice Chairman, Torrent Power, said that the company has set benchmarks on critical parameters such as transmission and distribution (T&D) losses, aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses, and reliability, with performance comparable to global best standards. He added that the recognition underscores Torrent Power’s commitment to operational excellence, customer-centricity, and good governance.

Torrent Power has consistently demonstrated strong governance practices, financial discipline, technological innovation, and a consumer-focused approach, reinforcing its leadership position in the power distribution sector.

India’s largest integrated private sector power utility, Torrent Power, has a presence across the entire power value chain, including generation, transmission, and distribution. The company distributes nearly 31 billion units of electricity to around 4.21 million customers across multiple cities in the country.
