Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has expanded its power transmission network to 27,901 circuit kilometres and reported a total order book of Rs 77,787 crore in the third quarter of FY26 (Q3FY26), according to a company press release.
During the quarter, the company fully commissioned the North Karanpura Transmission Line and added 299 circuit kilometres to its network. This expansion followed the acquisition of the KPS III (Khavda South Olpad) HVDC project. AESL maintained high system availability at 99.69% during the period.
AESL’s power transformation capacity rose sharply to 1,18,175 MVA in Q3FY26, compared with 84,186 MVA in the same quarter last year. The company said new project wins, including three HVDC lines under Adani Electricity Mumbai Infra Limited and KPS III HVDC Transmission Limited, supported this growth and reflected strong bidding capabilities.
In the smart metering business, AESL installed 18.88 lakh meters during the quarter, taking the total installed base to 92.5 lakh meters. The company expects to cross its guidance of 1 crore cumulative smart meters by the end of FY26. The smart meter order book stands at 2.46 crore units, with potential revenue of Rs 29,519 crore. AESL also highlighted a large untapped market opportunity of 103 million smart meters across the country.
The smart metering segment received recognition as runners-up at the Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award for an AI-ML-based tool that automates meter validation and speeds up activation.
In distribution operations, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited sold 2,487 million units in Q3FY26, slightly lower than 2,574 million units in the same quarter last year. In contrast, MPSEZ Utilities Limited at Mundra recorded 57% year-on-year growth, selling 371 million units, driven by strong industrial demand. Distribution losses at AEML improved to 4.03%, remaining well below regulatory norms.
On sustainability, AESL’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment score from S&P Global improved to 80 out of 100, up from 73, placing the company among the top 9 percentile of 244 global electric utilities. It also received a consolidated ESG rating of 71 from NSE Sustainability Ratings & Analytics Limited for FY25.
Operationally, the Rajnandgaon substation won first prize in the service category at the 10th CII National 5S Excellence Awards 2025, reflecting improvements in operational excellence.
